Timetable Changes from September 8th 2025
From 8th September 2025, we’re introducing a series of timetable improvements and adjustments across our network to make journeys more reliable and convenient for our passengers. Here’s what’s changing:
Route Updates
Routes 1A & 1B
- Frequency will adjust from every 10 minutes to every 20 minutes.
- Along the core section, buses will continue to run every 10 minutes rather than every 5.
- To maintain capacity despite the reduced frequency, we’re introducing a batch of new double-deck buses to replace single decks.
Route 4
- Frequency will shift from every 65 minutes to every 70 minutes.
- This slight adjustment helps improve reliability on a route prone to delays due to tight turnaround times at Ryde.
Route 6
- Services will now run hourly instead of every 2 hours, using single-deck buses to better match passenger demand.
Route 8
- Services will now run every 40 minutes instead of hourly, offering passengers greater flexibility.
Nightbus Improvements
Route N1
- The additional journeys previously introduced during Cowes Week (departing Newport at 04:15 and Cowes at 04:32) will now run all year round.
NEW Route N4
- A night variation of Route 4, running every 90 minutes, offering more late-night travel options across the island.
Seasonal Service Changes – From 27th September 2025
Needles Breezer
- Will run hourly from 09:55 to 16:55 until 1st November.
- From 2nd November, service will run every 90 minutes from 10:00 to 16:00.
Downs Breezer
- No changes until 1st November when services will end for the 2025 season.
Sea Breezer, Shanklin Shuttle, Summer Links
- Services will end for the 2025 season.
Island Coaster
- Will operate 2 trips daily from each direction:
- Yarmouth to Ryde: 09:50 & 14:50
- Ryde to Yarmouth: 13:00 & 18:00
CastleHopper
- Service will end on 27th September and will not return due to low passenger numbers.
These updates are designed to improve reliability, increase flexibility, and better match capacity to demand across our network. We thank our passengers for their continued support and look forward to welcoming you on board!
